Foundation permits have officially been issued for 921 N Noble Street in Noble Square. These permits are tied to a larger adaptive reuse development located at the St. Boniface Church at 1358 W Chestnut Street in Noble Square.
The project received initial approval in 2018 and will preserve the church by converting it into 17 condominiums. Designed by SPACE Architects + Planners, the building at 921 N Noble Street will be to the north of the church on a vacant parcel. That structure will rise four stories and there will be nine total units, four of which will be affordable units. The permit also indicates there will be ground-floor retail and 14 parking spaces as well as an additional 10 basement-level parking spaces.
The Chicago CTA L station, serviced by the Blue Line, is a nine-minute walk from the property. Bus service for CTA Route 66 can accessed at the Chicago and Noble stop, can be reached via a three-minute walk.
Summit Design & Build will be acting as the general contractor for this stage of the build which has a reported cost of $1.5 million. No further details are available for the timeline on the rest of the project.
